Rather than spend time in jail for "contributing to the delinquency of a minor," a man (Jack Nicholson) convinces guards he´s crazy enough to be sent to a mental hospital instead. There, he finds the head nurse (Louise Fletcher) a lot more dangerous than the other patients.

Nurse Ratched: "If Mr. McMurphy doesn´t want to take his medication orally, I´m sure we can arrange that he can have it some other way."
