So, what will Oregonians being doing to celebrate their 143rd birthday? Well, The Oregon Historical Society Museum and Library is opening their doors to visitors today for free! Students from 20 middle schools were also invited to a televised forum with four Oregon Governors: Victor Atiyeh, Mark Hatfield, Barbara Roberts, and current Gov. John Kitzhaber. Other scheduled events include exhibits featuring movies, historical vehicles in minature, American Indian basketry, and treasures of Oregon.
